Uys du Buisson is an actor and acrobatic movement specialist.

Uys is an artist who has dedicated his career to projects that blend theatrical story telling with daring physicality. From plays and film projects to conceptual art pieces and large scale spectacles- Uys has used his skills as both an actor and an acrobat to work across many different forms of media. With a deep love for the emotive power of the performing arts, Uys is most interested in bringing to life characters and stories that have a profound transformative effect on the viewer.

Uys’s most recent credits include: The Beatles LOVE by Cirque Du Soleil, the North American tour of Odysseo by Cavalia, the national tour of Peter Pan 360 (choreographed by Gypsy Snider of ‘the 7 Fingers’) and Company XIV's Nutcracker Rouge in New York City.

Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, he trained and performed at the Zip Zap Circus School for seven years and started studying drama in high school. He then moved to New York City to study acting at the Circle in the Square Conservatory on Broadway. After graduating he spent a decade in New York performing in all sorts of different productions. Some of his favorite experiences include: acting in classical and contemporary plays all over the city, working with Noemie LaFrance on her groundbreaking projects and his extensive work with the Streb Extreme Action Company when he performed with them at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park, the Park Avenue Armory and the London Olympics.

Uys has also conceived, directed and performed many of his own creative projects. These multimedia performance pieces include: Landscrapes, Cobra Footprints, Buster’d, Hammertime and 1985.
